Writing historical fiction: sometime journal of a New York City novelist

my many worlds of time travel

I am at that delightful stage where I am involved with sharing early news of my novel Claude and Camille while writing another novel....but I am also so happy that autumn has come to New York City! It is hard to keep me at my desk when the park and river call to me! I am going back to a regular meditation practice to keep calm about these things when one moment I am mentally in Paris 1865 with the 25-year-old Claude Monet walking into a bookshop to meet his love, and the next in the foggy streets of Victorian England and one household there of great sadness and complexity. Fascinating really if a bit rapid time travel! Other things this week threw me back to 18th century Vienna and Shakespeare coming into London for the first time....
